BELLA COSA FAR NIENTE

Idleness is a beautiful thing
And so I sit and be idle and let the world slowly and silently drift past me in a warm and beautiful haze, and my contentment is expressed in the soft upward curve of my mouth and I wish for more peaceful days of solitude, but alas, work is calling me and my time is up..... but in the meantime, I have my memories of places where I contemplated nothing but the comings and goings of the world moving before my eyes and I am grateful.....

Here's to more moments of quiet contemplation while sitting in beautiful surroundings bestowed upon us by the graciousness of nature.

This weekend I am joining Summer Sundays
and I thank the Tablescaper for hosting same.

Here's hoping that you have the chance to steal some
solitary moments for yourself and whittle them away.

Until Next Time.

  5. Beautiful, just beautiful. I enjoy the same mindset. It's like being on a little vacation that you snatch when you can, and it's great!

  7. You must rename your blog. Those exquisite photos do not occur in an average life.

Thanks so much for being a part of "Summer Sundays".

  9. This is so lovely! And I don't want you to change your blog title. And I love that diasy header photo... It's perfect. You know, I think I used to be so much better at just sitting and letting the thoughts and feelings flow... "Being in the moment" in other words. Now I'm having to learn to do it again - and I can't believe how much practice it takes. I'm either overly conscious of how hard I'm trying to be in the moment, or I'm sitting there - in front of the amazing, beautiful ocean that is outside my front door, thinking about whether I can walk on the beach today, should I skip that and get something done in the house... What if this and what if that... etc. And when I'm not trying to fight off those distractions, sometimes it's the other side of it all and I - as my husband tells me - 'pointing it out too much' - feeling like I should be (or even AM) overwhelmed with shocked excitement about it all. Neither of those is 'peaceful'. So I'm trying to learn to - kinda - take it a little for granted... if only so I can 'chill' enough to just 'be there.' Just another thing I love about your blog... it's fun and funny, moving and inspiring, open and honest... And I get all this for FREE?! My therapist (the one trying to teach me to be in the moment... and he's awesome) has some tough competition - especially if one measures in 'value per dollar'!!!
